Committees & Working Groups
Nova Forest Alliance projects are carried out by committees and working groups.

Committee Roles
Partnership Committee Meeting at least twice in the calendar year and reaching decisions on a consensus basis, the NFA Partnership has primary authority on all NFA business, activities and transactions. Composed of one representative of each partner, the Committee plays an active role in plotting the present and future direction of the NFA.
Management Committee Appointed by the Partnership Committee, the Management Committee is composed of one elected member from each sector of the Partnership, with that member being nominated and elected by that sector (a Forest Community Area member may also represent a sector) and two members representing each Forest Community Area elected in the communities. Management Committee responsibilities include the fiscal and administrative supervision of the NFA, attending to staffing, and approval of annual workplans. Two sub-committees provide recommendations on staffing and fiscal management.
Personnel Committee When required, the Personnel Committee makes recommendations to the Management Committee on hiring and managing NFA staff.
Finance Committee Reporting to the Management Committee, the Finance Committee investigates and takes action on leveraging external funding required by NFA to carry out programs.
Working Groups Under the guidance of Management Committee, one or more Working Groups may exist to address issues on an ad hoc basis. They usually involve individuals who are directly involved with a particular project, or who have an interest in completing it.
